Miu Miu for me

I love the spring 2010 Miu Miu line. And I loved this collection of magazine editorials I spied over on Fuji Files the other day (see below). It was marked by this incredible plug(?) print, interesting cutaways, and jeweled appliques.

Unforunately, my budget does not allow for such luxeries, but I did see several dresses from Urban that I thought did a pretty good job of incoporating some cute prints and cutaways. They would definitely need to be paired with some sparkles.....maybe from JCrew?

The Facehunter is in Moscow

I always get so excited when streetstyle photographers go to Russia. The first time I went, people were wearing cell phones around their necks as the "it" accessory, but clearly Russian fashion has come a long way since then.

Look at this apartment!

Do you sometimes see a space, or a piece of art, or hear a song and feel like someone else is exactly on your wavelength? Well when I saw this apartment on design sponge I felt exactly that way. I love the eames chair, the framed art, the industrial lighting. I mean, just look at it:

Wedding Shoes: Flats

Bridal Flats

From the moment I started this whole wedding planning thing I knew that I would be wearing flats on my wedding day since PB and I are roughly the same height. I still have NO idea what color or style I am going with, but it's not my fault. There are just so many different options out there. I thought I'd just pull a few outstanding options I came across while looking.

Clockwise:
These Salvadore Ferragamo Eyelet Ballet Flats are so classy and chic. Can you imagine them with a short mod dress at city hall?
Or how about these kate spade 'harper' sequin flats or these Juicy Courture Ronie Washed Metallic Flats? They would be perfect for a wedding in a downtown ballroom.
For a bit of a preppier take, I love the kate spade 'nicolena' flat.

Ever since Carrie started donning her oversized fabric flowers about 10 years ago, I have been a fan of huge floppy fabric flowers. I love the color (and the price) of these REPORT 'Kimball2' Flats. Or how about these more neutral Nanette Lepore Love Potion? I can totally see them at a gorgeous garden or backyard wedding. For a more formal occasion, I would totally rock these MARC JACOBS Ballerina shoes or if you want a bit more punch to your shoes, how about these Ballet flats Women from Moschino.

These Monsoon Accessorize - A Magical Tea Party are so liberty of London (do we have Monsoon in the US?), I can totally see a shaggy haired Alexa Cheung type wearing these. Or maybe these totally affordable Nicole Magical flower ballet flats in burnt orange from Ruche.

These satin Marc Jacobs Satin ballerina flats would be so modern, and a little punk. Or how about go all out in these McQueen ALEXANDER MCQUEEN 237688 BLACK LEATHER 1865002? But, i think my favorites are definitely these Chloe Three-Buckle Mary Jane - Beige.

I think all of these rosy, neutral metallics would also look fantastic with almost any dress. I LOVE these Lanvin Linen and leather ballerina flats . The combination of the linen and metallic leather is really stunning. But I also think these Chloe Leather ballerina flats and MICHAEL Michael Kors - ballet flats would be awesome.

Which are your favorites? Got any to share?

Celine's fresh white fall

There's been a lot of discussion in the fashion world about how Pheobe Phlio has brought back Celine. I'm definitely not familiar enough with the history of fashion to agree with that fact, but I did love her clean lines and mixing of materials in her fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection. But the aspect of her collection that really struck me what she did with white. I feel like normally I associate white lace and fur with a more vintage and historically inspired look. But Celine made it look sleek and modern. So while I am normally more about black sweaters, black wool coats, and black leather boots I am seriously considering an injection of white into my fall wardrobe. Of course, I won't be putting any Celine in that wardrobe, but maybe when the fall lines come out I'll be able to find some pieces that resemble what Philo has been able to achieve. And I can save the black for opaque tights, boots, and trim.

Don't you love that top look? What do you think, is all white too unflattering on non-models?

Hello....

Probably no posts for today and tomorrow since work has been so crazy. But that's okay, everyone should be out enjoying the falling cherry blossoms and enjoying the beautiful spring weather. I definitely have a long list of post ideas waiting to be put together for next week.

Ode to Pilates

Over the past year or so I have fallen hard for pilates. It's graceful (it was designed for dancers after all), it involves stretching, and strength, and it makes you feel amazing. Plus, there's something kind of fun about working on these crazy machines with different straps and gears everywhere. It feels like some crazy 19th century invention ( I realize this isn't old compared to say, yoga). Maybe it's this weird oldness to it that makes me love looking at pictures of Joseph Pilates working with his patients and demonstrating all the positions. It looks kind of silly and crazy...but seriously, you have to try it.

Platinum

I know I would look awful with platinum blond hair, but it just looks so awesome on these ladies can you blame me for wanting it? There's something so angelic about it, but at the same time very bombshell and edgy.

Where have you been: Ascot Friday?

So the other day, I'm getting bored with the like thousand other blogs I normally read and start checking out some of the links, and then links of links when I come across Ascot Friday. Dude, why didn't anybody tell me about this before? It's like my fashion doppelganger, if I actually dressed the way I wanted to. Look!

What other wonderful blogs am I missing out on?
