Over the past few months, I developed a strong desire for a weekendaway in Palm Springs. I realized though, when it really comes down to it, my random Palm Springs yearning stems from one source: The Ace Hotel. I keep catching glimpses of this awesomely retro desert oasis on wedding and design blogs and I am definitely a fan. But since I can't go... and since our new place is a little retro (in the non-awesome way)...I've started thinking about incorporating that sort of boho retro vibe at our new digs.
Since I don't have a cinder block lined patio with a wood burning fireplace, it's clear I'm going to have to concentrate on the less architectural aspects:
Navajo style carpets and pillows
Leather upholstered furniture
Rough wood and metal
unframed art
futuristic plastic furniture
natural elements like driftwood, coral, and cowhide
canvas and "tent like" fabrics
white ceramic pots
big buckled trunks
Maybe, I'll have a little look around the interweb over the weekend.... Have a good weekend!

I really like the way they have the unframed photos and art work because it makes it look like it's still in progress or something; like it's hanging to dry. Maybe that is the key to unframed art: hang it like from something clip-like/clothes-pin-like so it actually looks like it's hanging to dry
